Best authentic Japanese food on the south island! What a hidden gem, loved by locals (and visitors if they're lucky enough to discover it). I especially adore that the chef uses his 120-year-old family recipe for his tempura dishes. Fresh fish, good portions, and the most delicious vegetarian bento box I've ever had. The restaurant itself is small and well-decorated, and feels like you've stepped into a Japanese eatery. A must try if you are in the area :)
